Fiicoms is a privately owned Australian telecommunications company based out of Kingscliff, on the NSW Tweed Coast. Initially set up as the networking division of surf website Swellnet, Fiicoms manages its nation-wide network of live cameras covering Australia’s most popular beaches.
In recent years, Fiicoms has developed a high speed fibre internet network, supplying hotels and businesses with fast, reliable internet, powering high definition in-room streaming services such as Netflix, Stan and Disney. Fiicoms also offers exclusive access to the Swellnet surfcam network.
Ben Matson founded popular surfing website Swellnet in 2002, and launched a national network of live streaming surfcams in 2005. In 2015, Ben partnered with Ben Black, then-Manager of SME Telecommunications to provide network services across its Gold Coast camera network.
Ben Matson and Ben Black have worked together on a number of projects over the following years, culminating in the development of the Fiicoms business in 2020.
Ben Black has been working in the Telecommunications Industry for over 20 years. In the last 15 years he has overseen the network planning of SME Telecommunications which included the design and implementation of Tweed Shire Councils Wide Area Network. In 2018 Ben sold SME Telecommunications to a Gold Coast based ISP where he continued to work as a Installation Manager for Hotel and Business Internet and Phone solutions.
In 2020 Ben Black and Ben Matson joined together to form Fiicoms to provide a full range of Telecommunications Services to the hospitality Industry.
Mitch Davison is a Certified Routing Engineer and has worked in the Telecommunications Industry for the past 8 years. Mitch has extensive experience across multiple ISPs overseeing the planning, configuration and deployment of Wide and Local Area Networks utilizing an array of hardware and solutions.
Mitch applies an understanding and proficiency in a range of technologies when delivering solutions including Fixed Wireless, Switching and Routing, Voice over IP and fixed line phone, ADSL, VDSL, Fibre and Ethernet.
